About Us

If you’re a dad who wants to know he’s leading well, we want to help. Faith for Fathers strives to empower dads to lead their families, live out their faith and leave a legacy that honors God.

This concept was birthed from our personal experiences as dads; some, where we did things right and others where we totally blew it. Reflecting back on our experiences reveals moments that could have been avoided if only someone had stepped into our lives and re-directed us or given us a map to follow.

Our goal is to help dads leave a Godly legacy by creating opportunities for fathers to intentionally lead their children to be the young men and young women God created them to become. If you are looking for a resource to empower you to be intentional about your role as a dad, this site is for you.

Hi, I’m Jonathan Bright and I call Spartanburg, South Carolina home. I am a graduate of the University of South Carolina (Spartanburg Campus), and have a Masters of Divinity from Liberty University. I have been married to my beautiful wife Mary Beth since 1996, and God has blessed us with three beautiful children (Elise, Abby, and Cameron). I have worked with children, teenagers, and college students since 1998, serving as both a Student Pastor and a Camp Director. My experience in those roles as well as my journey as a husband and father, has birthed in me a passion to help other Fathers embrace their calling as a spiritual leader, and leave a Godly legacy for their children.

If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. - John 15:7 (NIV)

Hello! I’m Dwayne Morris. I met my lovely bride, Angela at Clemson University where we both graduated in 1991. We now reside in Inman, SC with our three children: Taylor, Logan and Avery. I have served the family of First Baptist North Spartanburg, Spartanburg, SC since 1996. I began as the Student Pastor and then moved to other areas of ministry that has allowed me to work with people of all ages from children to senior adults. My greatest desire is to help people of all ages discover a personal relationship with the Lord and live a “full-screen” life for His Glory. That’s why I love to be a small part of Faith for Fathers. I have a “front-row” seat to the vision God has placed on the Bright’s heart.

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. - John 10:10 (NIV)

What we Believe

Statement of Faith

God

We believe God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Jesus Christ

We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is co-equal with the Father. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all men by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven's glory and will return again to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

The Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and the Son as God. He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every believer from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. The fully devoted Christian seeks to live under His control daily.

Man

We believe man is made in the image of God to exist forever. Although God created man to have fellowship with him, man's disobedience separated him from God.  We are incapable of regaining a right relationship with God through his own efforts. When we die we will either spend eternity with God in Heaven or separated from God in Hell. It is His desire for us to spend eternity with Him.

Salvation

We believe salvation is a gift from God to man. Man can never make up for his sin by good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God's offer of forgiveness can man be saved from sin's penalty. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his life by faith.

We believe God gives man eternal life through Jesus Christ, and thus, the believer is secure in that salvation for eternity. We flesh out our salvation is maintained by the grace and power of God, not by the self-effort of the Christian.

The Bible

We believe the Bible is God's Word to all men. It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living.
