Say This:
Living with integrity means to be honest and do what is right even when it’s difficult or when no one is watching. Proverbs 10:9 tells us that “Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but whoever takes crooked paths will be found out.” God calls us to live with integrity because it honors Him and leads to a life we don’t have to hide.”

Say This:
In this powerful scene, the father discovers his son has stolen a sausage because he feared being sent away due to their poverty. The father makes him return it and apologize, and then reminds the son that: “We don’t steal… no matter what happens.” This father loved his son enough to teach him the right thing, even though it was hard. Let's look at a few things that our Heavenly Father teaches us about the importance of living with integrity.
- INTEGRITY BRINGS SECURITY (Read Psalm 25:21)
SAY THIS: When we live God’s way, we don’t have to worry about being exposed or hiding things. Integrity gives us peace because our lives are built on truth. - INTEGRITY IS A CHOICE WE MAKE DAILY (Read Luke 16:10)
SAY THIS: Integrity isn’t just one big decision — it’s lots of small choices to be honest, keep our word, and do the right thing. - INTEGRITY POINTS PEOPLE TO GOD (Matthew 5:16)
SAY THIS: When we live with integrity, people see something different in us. Our lives can show them what God is like.”
Ask This:
- Why do you think the dad in the movie made his son return the sausage?
- When is it hardest for you to be honest or do the right thing?
- How does living with integrity help a family trust each other more?
- What is one area where you want to grow in integrity this week?
Closing Thought:
Integrity isn’t about being perfect — it’s about being honest, humble, and choosing God’s way again and again. Our family can be a place where we help each other live truthfully and extend grace when we mess up.
Pray This:
Father, thank you for loving us and showing us what is right. Help our family to walk in integrity — to be honest, trustworthy, and faithful in the small things. Give us courage to do what’s right even when it’s hard, and help our home be a place of truth and grace. In Jesus’ name, amen.
